Newall Green visited Gorton Monastery

A couple of weeks ago, we were very lucky to be invited to Gorton Monastery to visit the bee we had created and to take part in the feast of St Francis.
We took with us six of our peace pals who had a fantastic time exploring the Monastery and finding out more about its remarkable history. The children were then able to join in with the unveiling of a new peace pole and our head boy, Stephen, read a poem to mark the moment. The best part of all though, was being able to take part in the release of the white doves which the children thoroughly enjoyed. It was a very poignant and beautiful ceremony and we were so thrilled and honoured to have taken part. Thank you!
