Buddha’s Birthday Celebration

Today Year 4, 5 and 6 with our friends from Central Primary School, joined in Buddha’s birthday celebrations at the Guildhall in Swansea.

Some of our children took part in a celebration ceremony and presented  tea and incense to Buddha as part of the ten offerings. The VIP’s at the ceremony spoke to us about what a special occasion this  was and we learnt lots more about Buddhist teachings and ways of life.  Some of us took part in the Buddha bathing ceremony and we were all lucky enough to try some of the delicious vegetarian foods on offer.

Thank you to Pam Evans (Founder of Peace Mala) for inviting us, to Mrs Wai Fong Lee MBE who helped to organise the event,  to Venerable Miao Hen and Venerable Miao Di from Manchester Fo Guang Temple, and to everyone involved for making this a special day.

We were very proud to represent Catwg Primary as a Peace Mala Gold Award School.   We look forward to meeting our friends from Buddha’s Light International Association again.

  1. It was wonderful to see you there at Swansea Guildhall for the celebrations of Buddha Shaykyamuni’s birth. As you already know, Buddha’s message is for us to act towards others exactly as we would act towards ourselves. This is the Golden Rule of all spiritual paths. Let us try our best keep this rule.

    Well done Catwg!
