Support for Marcus Rashford and all Black footballers

Marcus Rashford MBE, English professional foorballer plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England National team.

St Agnes CE Primary Manchester (one of our wonderful Peace Mala Accredited Schools) took a special message for Marcus Rashford following the disgraceful racist on-line bullying he and other black footballers suffered after England’s loss in the Euro 2020 Football final on Sunday 11th July 2021.

The Marcus Rashford mural in Withington, Manchester was also defaced.

Peace Mala ambassador pupils from St Agnes Primary, made their way to the mural to offer their support and praise on Thursday 15th July.  They also thanked him for all he has done both off and on the pitch to give hope to future generations.  They described him as a superhero.

Pam Evans MBE, founder and CEO of Peace Mala commented,

“We are enormously proud of the actions of our pupils in St Agnes CE Primary Manchester. There is no room for racist abuse in our world.

We encourage pupils to live by the Golden Rule, to treat others as you would wish them to treat you.  Our project stands up to bullying and all forms of prejudice.  We encourage young people to engage in creative, compassionate education that embraces all cultures and encourages cohesion, diversity, global citizenship and respect for all.

Our pupils are already contributing to a more compassionate and just world. They are already making a difference.”
