It is with great sadness that we heard of the passing of our dear friend Zero on Saturday the 25th of April 2015, 6th of Rajab in the Muslim calendar.
We will remember Zero with love. Over the years she proved to be a wonderful supporter of Peace Mala and attended many of our events. We were so grateful to have Zero and members of the Naqshbandi Sufi Order of Islam at the launch of Peace Mala. Zero lit the candle of peace for Islam which represented Muslims throughout the world.
We pray that Zero is now at peace in a place of brightness, a place of refreshment, a place of repose, where all sickness, sighing and sorrow have fled away.

At fajr time on Saturday the 6th of Rajab, Zahra Thyra Quensel, known to everyone as ‘Zero’, passed away.
Surrounded by family and close friends from amongst the ladies of Glastonbury, her end came quickly after suffering for some months with a terminal illness.
Zero had moved to Glastonbury around 2000, and during her fifteen years there, had brought together and helped many of the women of the Glastonbury community by establishing regular ziker’s. She was an anchor for many women in crisis and in need of support and help.
Based in the Sufi Charity Shop in the centre of Glastonbury, she became a well know character of the Glastonbury scene, and was respected by many from amongst other alternative and fringe groups in and around Glastonbury.
She devoted herself with great determination to the activities undertaken by the Healing Hearts Charity she had established, and worked tirelessly in supporting causes in West Africa and elsewhere.

Originally from Sweden, Zero first met Sheikh Nazim in the early 1980’s, living briefly in Cyprus, and eventually basing herself in the U.K. She travelled extensively and networked amongst the Naqshbandi community worldwide, but during the last fifteen years was focused in Glastonbury. She had also transcribed and published many of Sheikh Nazim’s sohbet’s during the late 1980’s and 1990’s.
Inshaa’Allah, she was buried according to our Islamic rites and traditions in Butleigh Cemetery on Monday the 8th of Rajab on the day of our beloved Sheikh Nazim’s ‘urs.
She leaves behind a big legacy in being a key to bringing together many of the Naqshbandi ladies in the growing Glastonbury community, and whose loss will be mourned and strongly felt by many of them.
