Pupils at one Neath school have been celebrated for their understanding of peace.
Year 6 pupils from Catwg Primary School have been presented with the Peace Mala Award for the second time. The school first achieved Peace Mala Accreditation in 2010.
The award, which relates to religions coming together for peace, has various aims including education for global citizenship through understanding, friendship and peace.
Neath Port Talbot Mayor Huw James presented the pupils with their award, along with Peace Mala representative Norma Glass and Pam Evans, Founder of Peace Mala.
Mr James said, “I think it is wonderful that they have won this award. It shows that young people are being brought up to create a world of peace. This was a lovely celebration and the singing was fantastic.”
